'Dandelion Clock' (2023) in watercolour and soft pastel. I sketched this late last night, after walking through a field of dandelions that afternoon.
I find dandelion clocks so magical, maybe it's because, as children we are told fairies tell the time by blowing on them, and those memories stay with us. I wanted to play around with colour and texture and be a bit more abstract than realism.
I love the background, as it looks like the sun is shining through the grass; and the star patterns on the dandelion clock, is what I see when I look at a dandelion clock.
